More than 50 local businesses came along last week to the Archant London Business Awards and East London Business Place networking event, held at the CCT rooms in Docklands.
The evening was based around "how to win business", an all important factor in these tough trading conditions that we are all facing.
Glenn Addis from East London Business Place talked about the huge benefits to businesses when becoming members of ELBP, and how over the last five years, they have helped secure business for companies in the Thames Gateway area, with their extensive list of contacts. Claire Evans from Archant London introduced the Thames Gateway Business awards, and the great benefits that winning these awards could mean for your business, along with how you could spend some of the huge prize fund of £100,000 that Archant London have put up this year if you were to become one of the 15 category winners. Claire added, "Nearly all of the local businesses that have come along, are really keen to enter this years awards, having seen the range of benefits associated with being an award winner." "Even companies who have never entered awards before, with the help of the events marketing team, are really keen to enter this business, so that they are in with a chance of becoming winners and scooping the great prizes that Archant are offering".
Last year’s Thames Gateway Business of the Year winner, Alexandra Kelly from Powerchex, spoke briefly on what winning last years awards meant to her, and the importance of building awards entries into your communications plans.
